View Full Version : DVD Shrink 3.0 Beta 5 - Cannot do deep analysis more than once

Hey everyone,

I'm new to these forums as I haven't really had many issues with DVD backups. I have 1 issue that I was wondering if somebody could help me out with. I'm trying to make a backup of Head Of State (the new Chris Rock flic). I've used DVD Decrypter in file mode so it decrypts all of the files into a specific folder. Once this was done, I did a deep analysis on the movie so I could get better image quality/compression.

Now here's where my problem lies. On the first copy I did, the movie was fine, however the extras (mainly the menus) came out somewhat blocky. So I decided to go back into DVD Shrink and re-do the compression with the original files from decrypted on my hard drive.

The only problem is now I cannot re-do the deep analysis. The button is blocked out. It seems that DVD Shrink has kept the original analysis info for this movie stored somewhere, but I have no clue where. Now every other copy I do comes out bad, and I think it may be because I cannot re-do the deep analysis on my compression levels. Anyone have any ideas? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thx!!

The settings for deep-analizing can be found in:

C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\User\Anwendungsdaten\DVD Shrink 3.0

(german)

must be something like

C:\Dokuments und Settings\User\ApplicationData\DVD Shrink 3.0

in english.

Just delete the Analysis-Results-Files.

Hope I could help.

As far as I know, Deep Analysis analyses the original file, so what difference will it make if you can't do a new analysis ?
If the source is the same, the analysis will find exactly the same.
Analysing a DVD several times does not change the DVD. :)

Thanks a million RaZoR!! The files were exactly where you said they were. :D

Thanks for your feedback as well Nobbs. The reason I was concerned about this is because DVD Shrink does a quick scan when you load up a set of files. From here you can choose to backup the DVD right away without a deep analysis which leads me to believe that the deep analysis checks the compression settings you choose afterwards.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I'll fart around with it and keep you posted. Thx again!!

Having read some of what DVDShrink himself have to say about the Deep Analysis, I believe it just analyses the DVD more troughoutly, and the reason it saves this info is so that you do not have to do a new analysis if you find out that you want to do the same DVD with different settings.:D :D

I have to agree with NobbyNobbs. Doing another DeepAnalysis probably won't solve your problem.

I'm gonna try some tests with the deep analysis and let you guys know if it does actually do an analysis on the new compression settings I choose. Thx again!! :)
