selecting standard instead of wide screen pgc video file?

hi, I finally realized that if i wanted a movie that woould take up the entire screen I only had to rip the standard resize ifo file, usueally the file that is about as long as the one automatically selected for you,which is always widescreen. well so far i have only been able to do it for two movies, the others say they have a standard video resize option on the back of the movie case, but when i rip theirs no standard video file. I think that the standard file is broken into several pgc files but i'm not sure. I'm wondering if their is a way to put them together, or if it is even possible to rip a standard movie in that situation, wide screen is fine so its not a huge issue but it is nice to have a movie that takes up the whole screen. thanks to those that reply!

no offense, but is the DVD two-sided? could the standard version be on the back. it's quite unlikely you'd overlook this, but possible...

nah, but I do like the two side dvd's, those i can make work, its movies that are all on one side of the dvd. I'm thinking theirs some kind of a program or something that changes the aspect ratio of the movie instead of their being two different resolution movies on the same dvd. well it seemes like lightning will never answer me so i doubt I will ever know whats up and if i can get the standard movie size and not just the widescreen one

does you dvd have both widescreen & fullscreen, if it does, than extract the one you want, if your not sure which is which, Stream Processing will tell you if it's widescreen(16:9) or fullscreen(4:3)

I use dv decripter and it's all gravy, I get the main movie which is 16:9 yea. BUT THE VIDEO FILE IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A WIDESCREEN AND STANDARD VIDEO SIZE, say's so on the case. I want to take a movie that say standard is possibe but decripter wont reed it and make it standard. the closest I can get is too change the aspect ratio to 4:3 and streach the picture and make it look crappy. If it were the actual standard film file then it would be full screen and look good instead of streached. anything I can do or is it just not possible?

if your dvd has both versions, in dvd decrypter, when it selects the main movie, is there a Angle 1 & Angle 2, if there is, select the other one.

have you try it on a dvd player; if yes, can you select either one? have you ever thought, maybe the case is lying to you? and you should get a refund?
