Hi, I have a DVD that I'm trying to backup, and have some questions about removing parts of a vob and how that affects the chapters in the DVD.
All of the chapters in the chapter selection menu for my authored DVD point to the wrong scene, about two minutes ahead from where they originally should be. I think the reason is because I used VOBEdit to remove some scenes that I didn't want. Spartacus (Criterion Collection) has a 5 minute overture in the beginning that I wanted to remove, so I used VOBEdit and demuxed by CellID to remove that intro and also the end credits. The overture VOB is not the first cellid in the tileset however, VTS_01_002.VOB, so after removing that I had to rename the remaining vobs so that they'd be in sequencial order.
Instead of deleting the unwanted vobs entirely and renaming the remaining vobs, if I had used dummy 15 frame vobs in place of the deleted vobs, would that have solved the chapter selection problem? Do I need to preserve the number of CellID's in the tileset in order for the chapters to be at the right place? If not, how would I go about solving this problem?
