slow playback media player classic problem?

Hi, i have been using MPC for a while , but i recently upgraded to the version on the doom9 download page , and now to the newest version , well after the first upgrade , video file of any type (.avi .mkv .ogm ) all play either slow or fast , but after closing MPC and reopening it , it will play fine , this also happened in wmp9 as well , all though i think it must be to do with MPC's decrease rate / increase rate function? any ideas? i am using FFDshow (newest version) and matrix mixer.

It works according to the codecs it can find in your system. I use PowerDVD codecs and all is well.
Have you looked with right mouse/properties to see which codecs are in use ?

MPC is working fine for me. Maybe you should try uninstalling matrix mixer and see if the problem goes away (audio does have something to do with playback rate). Similarly ffdshow has had some periods where even the "stable" version was buggy as hell so switching to nic's dshow or something might be worth a test. Also I've had a few problems in the past that were solved by updating my directx version (no just the big integer upgrades either), but that was never a speed problem.
