Hi All,
After searching this site most of my questions were answered, except I couldn't find anything regarding the quality of a Backup burned dvd.
So my question is How much quality is lost in picture and sound compared to the original, Is the loss, if any, very noticable or not?
And my last question is what is the best program(s) for backing up DVD's, With the least amount of quality loss?
I read something somewere i don't think it was here, but in those instructions it took 10hrs just to rip the DVD, then I forgot how long to finish the process.
TIA.

read the guides b4 posting this type of question.
the "best" way is the way that works for you.
however, the way that most users agree produces the least loss in quality is with CCE. if you are more into the one click solutions, then "i think" instantcopy is "best" as far as quality.
Please read the Guides (http://www.doom9.org/guides.htm) and rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) before posting as the answers here will have expected you have.

when doing searches here in the forum, try narrowing the search by only searching in the appropiate subforum. and always seach the forum before asking a question. It will make it easier fr everybody and you might not have to wait for an answer.
here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58787&highlight=comparison) is what my search found.

Are you talking about DVD9 (dual layer) to single layer DVD5 (single layer) DVD-R/DVD+R?
In that case you need to recompress the MPEG-stream = quality loss. How much quality you loose is different from method to method, and program to program.
But are you talking about a pure copy, a single layered DVD to a DVD-/+R there is no quality difference at all, assuming you burn on a good media so your DVD-player doesn't gets readfaults.

Well if you split to 2 DVDs you have no loss at all. (DVDXcopy or DVDFAB)
If you do the compress to one DVDR then is really depends on the movie as to final quality. Some movies you can not see it, some you can see some minor artifacts. I would say the quality is 80-95% of the original as seen by the human eye.
CCE does produce the best results but it is not really a "one click" solution.
The sticky at the top of the One click forum by mrbass is a must read.
It lists the software you can try and what not to try (scam)
But you need to try for your self.
The time it take varies 1-3 hours typically.
