Hi there,

I encoded thos 104 min movie, picture is all good, its a NTSC source.
After I muxed it with a 384kbps 5.1 AC3 track(downsampled from 448kbps) and a 96kbps Directors Comment OGG track, in a OGM container. The movie play choppy. Now I know i have to interleave, so I did, I tried 64ms/64ms, 128ms/128ms, 160ms/160ms, even 32ms/32ms. Nothing helped. BUT the strange thing is when I play and then pause the actual DVD with PowerDVD and THEN play my rip (with Zooplayer) the whole thing isnt choppy anymore!
And other AC3 movies play just fine.

Any ideas?

Sorry guy,

but from your post it isn't very clear, which program you used to mux your video and audio into the OGM file. Did you use VirtualDubMod?

Generally it is a bad idea at the moment to mux different audio tracks (like AC3 5.1 and Vorbis stereo) into the same file as the current OggDS filter has several issues with such a configuration. I think you have to wait a little longer until those issues have been adressed. I think Koepi and Nic look into this and other problems with the current implementation. Check this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=58522&perpage=20&pagenumber=1) for reference.

Thnx for replyin.

Ok. I used VirtualDubMod, I have ac3filter_0_70b.exe installed, and use ffdshow for xvid, and the OGG DS filter. But the weird thing is when I play the moviewith zoomplayer, after i paused a dvd with power dvd, the whole thing works flawless. That the weird thing about it. So I dont think its the actual muxing.

But thnx anyway,

Thomas.

No, it isn't muxing.

AFAIK (but don't blame me for that) ZoomPlayer is using an internal filter to switch between different audio tracks, while other players like Windows Media Player uses the OggDS internal audio switcher, which causes this issue. I think Nic and Koepi are trying to move the audio switcher out of OggDS into a seperate one (like MSS). I think you need some more patience and until they achieve their aims you have to use a player that does the stream switching internally (like maybe Zoom (I don't know that), MPC or TCMP).
