Here is the symptom:
If I produce MPEG4 material thats unresized from DVD source (ie: 720x576 PAL), there are times where it seems my DVD-ROM, or CD burner etc can not read the file off of the cd/r cd/rw fast enough and I get dropped frames, stutters etc. The same file, played off of the hard drive, works fine - no stutters, no dropped frame.
An excellent example is the intro and voice over to XMEN 1 DVD (with all the swirlie lights, journey through the brain bizzo).
Is there any software out there that will provide read ahead predictive type caching on DVD/CD Roms? DVD IDLE PRO has this functionality but it only works on DVD Materal (ie VOBS).
