Im just wondering whats better a standard multipass and the roboshot-bach.
Does one give better quality than the other ?

One thing that might help is understanding the RoBa is a quality based method where size is secondary whereas Multipass is size oriented with quality secondary. (IMHO) As a by product RoBa could actually be faster as arguably it only needs one OPV pass and one BR based VBR pass to adjust size. The downside is you have to do some sampling passes to figure out the best Q you can get on the target media available. That can take a few minutes to do. A derivative of this is the 1-Pass Bach which is just pre-calculating the Q via many sampling runs so that you can pretty much get the exact Q to fill the space available. It is hard to get it exact, but guess what? If you do get it right, a quality encode only takes 1 full pass. This is what the D2SRoBa plug-in from Tylo for D2S does.
I've spent the last few weeks really trying to understand RoBa and understanding that quality/size concept helped me a lot. Perhaps it will do the same for you. I posted a long answer here which I believe is factual :) : http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59850 Also see my post in this thread at the end dated 12th August 2003 12:25: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=357518#post357518 It is from Bach and is an overview.
