Hey all. I'm currently looking for a little help on filtering/noise reduction. Heres the situation:
What I'm encoding will be some Tekken matches (you know, the fighting games heh) from several tornaments and challanges that happaned a while back.
My source is pretty crappy. I dont have a capture card, but I do have a DVD-Recorder (records from TV ect). So I'm recording either from old VHS tapes (recorded with my camera) or my cam-recorder, which is pretty old to. So basically I'm going VHS/Cam - DVD - Rip DVD onto PC. Theres basically 0 quality loss going from VHS/Cam - DVD, but the original source is rididled with grain and noise due to the oldness of my camera. I've tried encoding some stuff with the little knoledge I already have. 320/240 XVids at 600kbs (Tekken matches wont really need over 600kbs or 320/240 heh). They dont look to bad, but due to the compression the noise and grain that is present in the originals looks 2x as bad. I tried enableing the heavy noise filter thats in Gordian Knot and it helps a little but it still leaves loads of noise in the image.
So could any one help me in adding some additional filters to help clean these encodes up a little. I'm not looking for mad quality, but I'd like to clean them up a little before they go up on the internet for the pleasure of the masses.
My source is PAL if that helps. If anyone wants to see the encodes so they could perhaps recomend some stuff to add to them I'm on IRC basically 24/7 so I could DCC.
