Cannot run any ULEAD soft in my PC !!!

May be it sounds strange or even weird, but it's true: no ULEAD soft runs in my PC !!!
I used to create my music SVCD's w/ MovieFactory. My OS was Win ME.
Then I upgraded to XP Pro and many months later reinstalled MF. The program simply doesn't open !!! Tried VideoStudio and MediaStudio (trials) and they just don't start also !
I'm my PC's only user and, therefore, the Administrator too.
Somebody help ! I'm almost quiting using ULEAD...

You need to supply more detail. For instance, are you getting any error messages?

I had a similar problem. All of my Ulead software stopped running. I was getting a message about an error with "ffvfw.dll". After a few searches here and on dvdrhelp.com I found that the solution was to simply find and delete this DLL. I did a search of my hard drive and found that it was part of AVISYNTH which I'd just installed. I deleted the offending "ffvfw.dll" and Voila!

Thanks, I'll give it a try ! The symptom seems the same...But that dll is usefull for Avisynth, isn't it ?
BTW, sometimes, when I try to run Ulead MF or VS I can see that they start to load (I can even see the splash screen !), but then it stops just like nothing ever hapenned...

I forget exactly what it's for; decoding something or other. But, for normal operation of Avisynth, it isn't needed.

Erm, just a thought, before you simply delete it, check if it appears in Add/Remove programs. If it does, then uninstall it from there.

It's a while since I did this myself, and I don't quite recall how I removed it. When I was double checking my facts just now, I read references to "uninstalling" it.

I've just confirmed. You do need to uninstall it from "Add/Remove Programs".

Just had to uninstall ffvfw.dll and, voilá ... everything is fine now.
I'll try to ask ULEAD why...Will they answer ???

Did install DirectX 9.0?

Ulead has known issues with DirectX 9 and said this be fixed in the next version.
