Breaking VHS copy protection is not allowed, but breaking DVD copy protection is allowed. Hmmm...

as long as it's for backup purple-sis and not for personal profit or anything illegal, it's allowed, as far as i know.

it might be easier to get it on dvd (if possible) and remove the macrovision protection from your dvdplayer so you can make a vhs copy.

what is vhs copyguard anyway? the only analogue copy protection I'm aware of is macrovision.

Actually, according to DMCA breaking digital copy protection is illegal. But it's different from country to country. Of course it has much more sense to forbid digital copy. Analogue always loose quality.

I don't know about copyguard... type it in google... found that sell some 'illegal' removers - of course :D . I think that no way to do it with software. Ehm, original question is little strange - cracking VHS copyguard, like it's some software :confused:

copyguard sounds like analog copy protection, so DMCA can't touch
