V1.3.5 Pinnacles Version Confusion

a - FeatureCheck to the '?' menu. This is just a little help to show you if
the Versions you have installed actualy support all the features of the
InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor you use, or if you should upgrade
or install certain Software to get the most out of it.

But more important, you can copy a small InfoList about your configuration
to the clipboard. This is useful if you run into any trouble using
InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor. In most cases this Info will help solve
your Problem more quickly if you need support. So when contacting for
support please provide this info along.

a - S-F-D (Smart Feature Determinator). Used If InstantCopy Hidden Settings
Editor runs into a, to itself, totaly unknown InstantCopy Version.
Depending on your system this can take a second or two. But most likely
you wont notice it. This only applies to unknown InstantCopy Versions
anyway. So if InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor informs you of an unknown
Version please report this, so it can be added to the next release.

a - now besides the actual Version of InstantCopy, Pinnacles 'Call Sign'
Version is shown, asfar as its known, as aka Version in InstantCopy
Hidden Settings Editors MainDialog

a - when encountering InstantCopy 7.0.0.91, all non available Settings are now
disabled. Can you believe they still bundle this version ?!?

a - recognition for DVDs < 4.37 GB to 'One Click Solution'. This skips the
transcoding process with InstantCopy when not neccesary, resulting in a
read to an .iso with DVDDecrypter and burning with DVDDecrypter instantly
afterwards. This only applies if 'Burn after conversion' is checked, when
unchecked the DVD is read in filemode and opened with InstantCopy
regardingless of its size.

a - 'Always use InstantCopy' option to 'One Click Solution'. Selecting this
option supresses the 4.37 GB check, so InstantCopy will still be used on
a DVD < 4.37 GB. This is useful if you e.g. want to remove P-UOPs
(Prohibited User Operations) before burning.

a - ASCII-Export to the 'IC-Settings' Menu. This enables you to export your
current Settings to the clipboard as plain ASCII Data. This can be useful
if you want to exchange experiences with certain settings for DVDs eg on
Forums. When exporting you can choose between a full list and only quality
related settings.

a - recognition and support for InstantCopy 7.0.1.125 (reported by sdean1138)
This Version supports the same settings as 7.0.1.114.

a - Errorhandling code for no longer present InstantCopy Installations

a - restriction to only work with InstantCopy 7.x.x.x, this avoids
unpredictable errors and behaviour when trying to run on other Versions

c - totaly redone the Version dectection for InstantCopy since Pinnacle uses
diffrent version architectures for InstantCopy StandAlone, InstantCD+DVD
aswell as for OEM Bundled Versions. This could lead InstantCopy Hidden
Settings Editor to being unable to determin the actual InstantCopy Version
tough it should actualy know it. The new code should be able to handle
Pinnacle Version Constructs not known to IC.H.S.E far better.

c - the behaviour of the Close Button in the About Dialog to be more windows
like

c - DVDDecrypter Version Check to be more compatible with future Versions

f - not all controls on 'One Click Solution' accepted 'esc' to exit Dialog.

Just to feedback that for me it does not seem to be OK since I still have the runtime-error 13 type mismatch when starting Hidden Settings Editor 1.3.6 (running XP French). The last HSE version that works is 1.3.1, if that can be of any help.

Hi Fastolfe!

if i understand you correctly you dont have a problem with PDI Control throwing Error 13, but with InstantCopy Hidden Settings Editor itself when you start it, is that correct ?!?

Yes correct, the error 13 happens when I start HSE itself.
I will reply to your PM when I get home this evening.

Cheers,

guess this means back to the start :(
as soon as you have looked up the exact error message, we can go bug-hunting again!

p.s.: do other pdi sets still work with PDIControl ???

No other .pdi set works, No error number, just says "cannot create file" I tried three different movie .pdi sets. Also when I hit extract files, the browse window comes up for location to store extracted files, I select the folder where I want them at and the browse window comes up a second time. I select the same location again and either it does nothing or a window reads: "Time elapsed 00:00", or it reads "Cannot create files". Again same setup and nothing was added to my setup. It worked the first time perfectly but after the first one it stopped working.

Let me know what you need from me so we can pinpoint this sucker down.

This is pretty bad!
I dont really have an idea whats going wrong there :(
So tracking this one will be a little more complicated, i have a hunch what might be part of the problem, but currently the only option i see is generating a special debug version, providing additional info.
So plz pm me with your email address so i can send you a debug version as soon as i got one ready!
Besides that, when trying to convert to iso, what is the exact error message ? does it really say: "cannot create file" or maybe: "Couldnt create ISO File:" ?!? This is important, because of the structure of the error handler!

 what really confuses me is that it worked on the first run

But we'll get this one aswell! I'm sure.

appendix:

that on extraction the BrowseForFolder Dialog pops up twice, is a very stupid bug, i must have interduced somewhere in the latest revisions, which hasnt anything to do with the other problem.
I actually managed to call the subroutine twice :D
Dont know when and why it happened (was i drunk ? :D)
Anyways, will be fixed in the next release!

Greetnx

P.S.: Dont Drink & Develop :D
