Dear Sir,
I made a big project using subtitles, motion menus,Trailors etc in DVD9 format. The movie is already released. But now the client wants to Re-Author the same movie with deleting some scenes due to censor problems.Rest contents remains same.
Is it possible to to retrieve my project from the DLT.I am using DVD Powerpack and a HP Sure Store DLT40 Drive.Or i need other Softwares to do so.

Kind help and oblige.

Zerohash.

I have succesfully retrieved DVD-5's from DLT's before, but never tried a DVD-9...

In your case, i think it's better to rip the components from the already released DVD and re-author them...

Yet, at work tomorrow, i'm going to try to "rip" a dvd-9 from DLT, to
see if it can be done...

You could use DVDmaestro's function "Read Tape" and dump the contents of the DLT, in your hard drive...
Now, open the image file (the BIG one!) with ISOBuster and extract the VIDEO_TS...

Also, i tried (if you can't afford Maestro!) with Gear Soft v.6.03 DVD Mastering Edition to restore the image file from the DLT and then use ISObuster to open it and extract the VIDEO_TS folder

ISObuster it's an utility that loads image files and process them...
You can find it at www.isobuster.com

It's very easy to use...

Steps:

1) Select "read tape' from DVD Conductor and save the data to a folder in your hard drive...I believe that Conductor/Maeasto saves a file with the name MAIN.IMG or MAIN.DAT. Actually, it doesn't matter, just select the large one...
2)Open ISObuster and load the image file, mentioned above from File>Open Image File
3) You will see the contents of the image having the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder...Right-click on VIDEO_TS and select extract...
4)This is the most important step!!!...Just relax and wait the files to be extracted...Now you have your original video_ts back!
