Using the Gordian Knot and DivX 5 version provided in Doom9's DivX 5 guide, my NTSC Interlaced film keeps coming up around 300MB too small. :(
I am choosing 2 700MB and checking split file.

Can someone tell me how to get the full 1400MB?

Did you tell it to recalculate bitrate? Also have you tried making the movie without Field Deinterlace? It might be that the movie is very compresible.

What compressibility values did your compression test have? Did you use FieldDeinterlace during the compress test? And have you read this post (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24584)?
