Menu's in many DVD's start with motion transforming smoothly in the menu. F.e. the Matrix starts with a short 'movie' after a few seconds the menu is active, sort of a delay. In DVD-lab the menu is directly active, what i want to know, is it possible to add some kind of delay in activating the menu?

If what you are looking for is to add a short movie intro that plays before the menu, yes you can do that in DVD-lab, and I have done it a few times already.

Usually I author a short video (5 to 10 seconds) in Premiere that does whatever I want but then finishes with a replication of my main menu.

Once you have this movie as a mpg, then I simply add it as a movie in DVD-lab. Then you need to adjust the connections. Go to the connections screen and draw a new connection from the First Play object to the new movie. Then draw a connection from the movie to your main menu.

As long as you have done everything right, when you insert the DVD it will start with your intro movie and then smoothly "become" your main menu. It is a nice effect.

Yep - thats the way its done in many films. They are made to look as one but the audio fades out and back in again. If you later press the remotes menu button it jumps to the menu leaving the intro out. This is normally done by VOB ID but the way Jolard has described it works just the same. Whatch the audio content though. DVD LAB puts all its "movies" in to one VOB SET and all menus in vts_01_0.ifo. So all audio in the "movies" must be of the same type - ac3 6 channel or whatever (including your intro in this case) and the audio in all all menus must be the same (can be different to the movies though)
hope that helps a bit...
