help please with ulead dvd movie factory

i`m converting vhs video`s to dvd using ulead dvd movie factory, most video`s capture fine but some have a strobe effect when played back on dvd. i`m capturing with constant bitrate at 4000 kps.

can anyone point me in the right direction please,

use VBR, and you might need to use a higher bitrate for a VHS source, depending on the quality of the tape.

how do you adjust the bitrate ?, i have noticed that once you choose the dvd seting at 4000 kbs, then go to tool setings the bitrate choice is greyed out so you can`t alter the setting. any idea`s ?????

al1959, I just tested and no, it's not possible to set a custom bitrate in MovieFactory (at least not in version 2, which is what I have). There are a number of presets and that's that, even though the manual suggests it should be possible to change bitrate on audio and video, it does *not* seem like it can be set freely.
But you could try another preset, with a higher bitrate, if indeed a low bitrate is your problem.
What do you mean by "strobes", by the way?
