I encoded a backup of a dvd to my hard drive using DVD Shrink.
The DVD Shrink resulted in 6 different "VOB" files along with 6 accompanying auxiliary files.
My Pinnacle Studio 8 does not recognize these VOB files.
Someone suggested changing the .VOB to an .MPG suffix should do the trick, but that didn't help either.
I'm looking for a good DVD software ripping program I can download to burn these VOB files to a backup DVD.
I would prefer freeware, or even better still, is there a program that will both copy, compress a DVD and burn it to a backup DVD?
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Jim

Instant Copy does what you want in one step.
DVD shrink does 2/3 of the job, it can decrypt, compress, and copy the files to the hard disk ready to be burned. You need to use DVD burning software like Nero to burn the files DVD shrink creates.

Don,
Thanks for your reply.
Will Instant Copy also decrypt commercially protected DVD's that have anti-copying encryption?
Thanks

No I forgot that Instant Copy won't decrypt. You would have to first decrypt/copy the DVD files to your hard disk with DVD Decrypter, then use Instant Copy from the hard drive copy. So this method takes 2 steps too.

You can choose to either decrypt + transcode/burn as two steps or
decrypt/transcode + burn as two steps. Its not difficult either way.

I use discjuggler or burnatonce.
