Whenever I playback an Xvid-encoded movie, it is widescreen, but not 16:9 - more like 16:7...
And with these screener-movies (the ones that scroll something like 'call 1-800-nocopys' at the bottom of your screen), I see only the upper half of the text, so I know playback is cutting my movie.
I tried other values for the threshold-options, but to no avail. Is this a known problem and can it be fixed? I remember switching to a newer version of Nic's Xvid-decoder around Xmas 2002, and since then I have had this problem. Recently I upgraded to Nic's decoder (16/07/03), but the problem remains the same.
I have had this problem with +10 movies, so I don't think they are badly encoded?! (tho I cannot be sure of that of course).
Zl.
PS: I have searched this forum for a similar problem, but I couldn't find any (tho I must say I don't know how to precisely describe my prob in English - I hope you guys understand?)
