I haven't really used any Divx utilities, besides watching already encoded disks, for several months. I decided to try and use the new 5.05 ver. of DivxPro and the new Gknot software.
I have everything installed per the guide, and I am trying to backup a copy of the Matrix using Divx 5.05. I'm using 2 CD's, AC3 audio and no enhancements except B frames.
I chose the 'old' or original 2 pass method over multiple (nth) passes by disabling the profiles 5.05. I set up the first and second pass with the same settings. I noticed a problem right away when the I began encoding and no audio was being encoded. I wasn't sure if this procedure had changed with the new software, so I let it continue. When it finished the first pass ~3 hours w/P-4 1.7, it came up with an error "cannot start video compression the source image format is not acceptable (error code -2).
Then 'AC3 import filter parsing file opens, encodes for a few minutes, then starts the second pass which creates an unreadable undersized file (about 380MB vs. ~1.4GB).
I'm sure I'm making some stupid mistake in either the Divx settings or the Gknot settings.
And yes, I'm setting the audio to 'just mux' for the AC3.
Any help for an old, but out of touch Divx user?:confused:
edit: I just looked over the log file and notice that the file extention for Nandub is using the "E" drive instead of the "D" drive like the rest; this might be the problem???
***edit 2: I just checked the setting in Gknot, and file extention for Nandub is right (D drive). I don't understand why the log is showing "E" as the drive extention. Any ideas???
