hi and welcome to the forum.
a) sorry, wrong forum
b) have you tried checking the avi for errors... frequently this causes AVI2SVCD to fail at some point. divfix or virtualdubmod can do a wonderful job in fixing those!

well the thread has already been moved to the appropriate forum, the DVD2SVCD basics forum.
if this problem is constantly (or at least frequently) occuring with xvid avis i'd suggest you check your xvid installation. perhaps try another build, or in case you are using a stable build, switch to one of the 'daily' builds.
for details see the xvid forum...
anyway, may i ask why you do not just rip the movies from the DVD again instead of wasting quality with an 'interim' step?

like suggested, if it's a problem with just one avi file, then most likely it's the file's problem...if it's like that for alot of your avi files then most likely its your computers fault or the way you set the conversion up. if you are using dvd2svcd to do this you might try posting a log file. also, where are you getting the xvid files in the first place? finally, please remember to make an appropriate thread title next time you start a new thread. you have been warned :)

Yes it does! You must install the xvid codec. If you have done so, test the xvid using VirtualDub. I have converted XVid avis with dvd2svcd at least a dozen of times without problems!
