I've used DVD2SVCD to convert about 25 DVDs with no problem at all. Couple of weeks ago I had to reinstall windows xp and all my programs. Tried to convert Willard and cce froze at 49%. I went to 'recover' and tried again with the same result. So I downloaded the program again just in case something was missing and tried again. Froze on 47% this time. Been through all the Q&As, tried everything that was suggested in them, with no result. The .vob files play back perfect, cos I thought maybe the rip had gone wrong, so that seems ok. I run win xp on a Jetway board with a VIA chipset, so I reinstalled the 4-in-1 drivers but that didn't work either. My system is win xp home, 512 Mb ram, 60 Gb hdd with 45 Gb free. As I said, up until I had to reinstall windows the program worked great. Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Did you convert this movie before without problems? It might be a problem with that very movie. Try a different version of CCE.

Thanks RB. I did 'eight legged freaks' after, with no trouble, so it must have been the movie itself.

wow this seem to be exactly to my problem i just encounter during encoding "lilo and stitch"

it froze at 48% or 49% everytime i do the encoding
the different is i do 2 times on the movies ( i do the cd1 first then do the cd2 separately using frame selection )

the weird thing is that i done cd1 without ne problem. the second time i do cd2, i end up with this problem. Thus i m not sure if it is the movie ( i have try rip it again to my hd still the same ).

not sure what really is the real problem
ne solution would be appreciated.

Happened to me twice long time ago. Check for zero length chapters, usually the 1st or the last one. In the latest versions of DVD2SVCD, zero length chapters are auto-detected and diselected.

Well after i go thru several retries, it work great for me with the same cce2.5 with same setting as b4

change my pass to 3, i re-encode using the .vaf info already created with other pass and working fine now.
