im trying to encode a 166min long movie using dvd2svcd and its in NTSC format...im using 4 cds at 800MB each for bitrate with sound at 224kb.

When i autoload the disc i get the following automaticall selected in the conversion tab

Aspect Ratio: 16:9 (borders added, encoded as 4:3)

i dont know if i have to use this but i want the screen sizing to be bigger so ive also tried Anamorphic (no borders, encoded as 16:9)

i like this better as it is bigger but will it effect the quality of the image?....or will both aspect ratios have the same? thanks.

Hello, and welcome to the forum-

Because, as you said, encoding as 16:9 is "bigger", you need a higher bitrate to achieve the same quality when compared to encoding the same movie as 4:3. But since you're using 4 CDs, you should be OK. Depending on the compressibility of the movie, for a movie of that length, 3 CDs would usually be enough when encoding as "16:9 (borders added, encoded as 4:3)". But other people may have different opinions.

Another thing you can do is encode your movie as 4:3 and then in your player set the Aspect Ratio to 16:9.
