hi everyone

im quite new to dvd reencoding, i tried out some of these 1 click tools first, but reencoding a dvd with 7GB+ always resulted in too bad quality.
meanwhile i did my first dvd rip using the big 3 and the quality seems perfect.
now i got some problems encoding another dvd (star trek nemesis (german)) i couldn't find a solution in one of the tutorials about:

one of the bonus parts is split up into multiple pgcs, each one with separate subtitles. when i took a look into the .sst files, i found out that the time indexes didn't start at 00:00:00:00. they begin after the end of the last subtitle of the previous pgc. after importing the script generated by reauthorist, these subtitles are missing. Trying to compile the project is impossible, because there are missing subtitles. importing the subtitles manually doesn't work too, because they start after the end of the pgc (except for the first).

now i could rip the dvd again without the bonus part subtitles, or change all the .sst files by hand (this could take some time :))
anybody got a better idea how to solve this problem?

thx

Hey

Had the same problem as you.

Just deselect the vts set in reauthorist, and run the rest of the material through Sceanrist. The rip the vts set with multiple pgcs from the dvd, its already in a lov bitrate, so no idea on altering it.

Then copy the vts set with the multiple pgc to the same location as your newly created sceanarist files, and run it through ifoedit, works like a charm with subtitles and all.

Good luck

thx, sounds like a good idea.
but what exactly do i have to do in ifoedit. usually i run ifoupdate, but in this case the new ifo&bup files created by scenarist are nearly empty, because they were deselected before.

hejsa

In ifoedit just press get vts sectors, you stille got to run the authored set through Ifoupdate, but the ones you copy directly, just use ifoedit.

Good luck
