Hi, I have an avi movie file that I wanted to play on Divx. However, when I try and open the file, an error appears that tells me that the following file contains audio data: Tag 8192. And that I may need to install an audio codec for proper playback. The video file plays without problems on BSPlayer and etc., but the audio is not heard. Can someone tell me what codecs I may use for the audio problem? thank you.

Hello, fayenatic. Welcome to Doom9's forum!

AVI files can be examined with a tool called GSpot (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Editing/gspot221.exe). It will tell you what codecs were used, and what you may be missing.

thanks, but unforunately, Gspot tells me that they can not even find an audio codec. Is there a possibility that there is no audio? eek!

I think you need an AC3-codec. Try AC3filter for example.
