dvdshrink beta 3

I've just d/l'ed and tested dvdshrink on Bullit and spirited away. I like the auto compression option and the general layout of the program quite a bit (new pop-up window is ok i suppose). I was wondering if any of you have info on how it is that the analise function works. The program says that it makes for a better copy, I wonder how.
