Hello all,

I always rip my DVD on 2 CDs in order to get the best quality...

I read my divx with The Core Media Player, and with ffdshow

I would like to know what settings should I use for ffdshow

I guess that with such a quality (bitrate around 1300-1500) I shouldn't use to much filters... That's why I just active the sharpen filter, and the best one: asharp

But I can't fine good values for its three parameters, because I don't know their aim...

Could you help me?

You may have chosen the wrong forum...

For an answer, well I only use deblocking and noise with ffdshow, na d I don't see what sharpening could improve ( unless you overfiltered the source in avisynth ). For your bitrate, noise could be discarded, but using deblocking is up to you. Some tests made on the Xvid forum ( here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=54051&highlight=psnr+ffdshow) ) showed that deblocking may increase psnr. So try it.
