Using HPG 1.1 to encode DV source to RV9 using EHQ 85, variable bitrate encoding (550), audio at 96K.

After a couple seconds of encoding I get this error message:
Channel energy imbalance for x seconds. x = 10 to 60 after which is says that error message 3166 is being suppressed for 18 hours., I then get Channel 1 is below -60dB for x seconds.

Anyone know what is going on?

John

the message means what it says... there is an energy imbalance in the audio channels. It has nothing to do with video. To translate, it probably means that one of the audio channels is very weak or muted. Since your source is already captured, there is probably little you can do to adjust, if indeed there is a problem with the audio.

This warning is mostly intended to help during live capture encodes, where this may be an indication audio capture or input is not set up correctly. A similar warhing is "audio out of phase since...", which could indicate a connection problem.
