View Full Version : DVD Workshop no longer converts 44.1 audio to 48

I've just tried creating a DVD from a VCD compliant MPEG1 file (which I've done many times succesfully in the past). I had the "don't convert compliant files" option checked. Previously, DVD Workshop would detect that the audio was 44.1KHz and convert to 48KHz before multiplexing. Now it doesn't, and the resulting DVD has no audio on it. Also, if I try and import mpa files, even the Ulead supplied ones, I am told that "the file contains no audio data".

This has only started happening recently, possibly since running Windows update for XP and downloading some of the recent Microsoft updates. Files containing 48KHz audio work fine - it seems to be the conversion from 44.1 to 48 which has stopped. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and does anyone have any idea how to fix it? I have tried reinstalling DVD Workshop 1.3 but it makes no difference...

The only two ways I have converted to 48kHz audio is with AviSynth using ResampleAudio() or with WinAmp's WAV Writter plugin. Although I doubt that'll help you since I am typically using WAV audio, and you're not in this case.

sounds like the filter dvdworkshop uses for mpa decoding is broken or unlinked.

Have you any tips for diagnosing/fixing if this is indeed the problem?

uninstall dvdworkshop and all dvd players

then install them all again

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I've still got the problem having uninstalled DVD Workshop and PowerDVD and then re-installed :-(
