a month ago my friend bought a router for this computers, a couple days ago he finally called tech support and got it working (that just goes to show, my friend is still a moron and the manual sucks)

when he was configuring the router w/o installing the software that came with it, he type in some number in IE (offline) and finally the manual made sense; i thought he had to install the software for this to happen, oh well.

getting to the point, when i'm burning music/data/video, does the cd-burner or burning program somehow keep a record of all my burning?

No.
Just install some firewall to make sure the programs you suspect are spying on you dont get access to the internet.
