mplayer2.exe doesn`t work!!!

Hi There!

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?:

After restating my computer Windows Mediaplayer (Classic mplayer2.exe) can not be executed. Windows Explorer hangs up when marking an *.avi. (Power DVD plays the avi fine)
DivXPlayer Plays the avi without sound depending on AC3 sound.
Even after installing Windows Mediaplayer9 mplayer2.exe doesn`t
work.

Please don`t tell me to reinstall Windows...

I installed MEdiaplayer 7.1 and unistalled it directly afterwards.
Now it works fine again!!!
