I want to buy a miniDV camcorder but wanted to be sure that it would produce movies in 16:9 format, 720x576 (PAL) movies.
Is this a common feature in modern mini DV camcorders?
Do I have to look for a special feature?
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
Thank you!

@ Trimegisto
I recommend you check out Adam Wilt's highly informative take (http://www.adamwilt.com/DV-FAQ-etc.html#widescreen) on the 16:9 issue regarding DV. I remember this was previously discussed before in the forum. And while you're at it, make sure to head on over to Ben Syverson's (http://members.macconnect.com/users/b/ben/widescreen/index.html) site relating to this issue. There's tons of info you can glean on this matter. Good luck.

The Sony DCR-TRV60 is supposed to be one of the world's first camcorders to have a 1,094x615 (1.77:1) pixel capture area CCD.
At £1,100 it's not cheap. But if you shop around I'm sure you could find one at a lower price.
If you do get one of these. Please let us know how you get on with it?

Also u should try considering the Panasonic MX5000, a 3CCD camera with native support for 16:9m, stunning detail and colors, but price about 2000 Euro
