I just got done authoring another DVD with the big 3 and Scenarist. I updated everything with ifoupdate but when stick the dvd in to play, it will start off by playing the FBI warning and then pause. When I press play, it will go to the menu (where is suppose to go) This happens with the main movie and all extras upon their completion. I can change chapters fine and I was manually comparing the differences b/t the new and the orgional ifos, I couldn't find anything that stuck out. What should I do to fix this?

Thanks,
Joe

I'm not positive if this is the fix to your problem but try to 'Get VTS Sectors' using IFOEdit.

I"ve tried that w/ both ifoedit and ifoupdate. When I take the origional ifo's and just do "get vts sectors" with ifoedit, the menus will play fine but the chapters and extra links are incorrect. The dvd will always return to the menu after the feature or extra is finished. But then the chapters are wrong and the extras have alto of black space after them until it finishes.

Your problem with the player pausing before the menu sounds like the still show/slide show problem with RA/Scenarist. RA exports short pgc's as still show, when they some times should be slide shows. You can correct this manually in scenarist by clicking on the dummy files and select slide show and also the duraion of the file, which can be found in ifoedit. This is just one possible solution.

I've come across exactly the same problem as Joeman. What I found interesting was the problem seems to be related to DVD Decrypter. As suggested in doom9 guide, I ripped the dvd using DVD decrypter into iso file and mount it with Daemon. Using PowerDVD to play the mounted DVD has exactly the same problem ie. pausing with a black screen and has to press Play to see the menu.

@joeman, can you confirm this.

?? restrictedcell= Is your DVD stopping after a certain PGC/Cell after reauthoring with RA? IFOEdit>VTS_PGCITI>VTS_PGC_x. Find the cell that it is stopping on. Check the Restricted Angle value. If it's not 0, set it to 0! (Aqua has no idea why this happens, but confirms the issue.)
