Heyo :),

I recently got a DVD-Rom and got into ripping video. But of course I've run into problems:D.

First I ripped the vobs to my hdd, Everything plays fine in the vobs. Then I tried converting it to DivX and that's were my problem start's. The video comes out nice and clear but the ac3 audio messes it up. It's usualy in sync but the audio will speed up and slow down and make skipping sounds.

It also look's like the audio slows the video down? Is there a way to encode the vob with a sound format that wont mess it up:)? or is this a normal problem with ac3?

ac3 2ch 48khz 224b

not pro in this question. but can you provide some more info: what tool did you use to demux ac3 from vobs, what filter do you use for playback?

this might also be a playback issue, not a encoding issue.

what CPU do you have ? , video card ? , sound card ? , do you have enough ram ?

If these don't match the minimum requirements the video / audio or both can run slow or jerky.

OK I actualy did 2 different test's.

DVD #1
I used SmartRipper and extracted the vob to my hdd with audio 80 & 81, No demux.

I then used Dr.DivX and encoded the vob with the 81 (japanese) audio source. Encoding came out perfect no errors!

DVD #2 <- one with problem!
Did everything the same as dvd #1 but the audio speeds up and slows down the video at times.

Are there certain vobs that have a protection in them? My processor is a 1ghz cel.

Dr.DivX Settings
Audio 41.10khz 128kb/s
2pass 1000kb/s
