Hello

I just did a full disk copy of Austin Powers 1 R2 with DVDshrink and Instant Copy and compared the results.

DVDshrink managed to fill the dvd-r capacity near 100%, 4.3 GB
Main movie and extras were transcoded at level 6, 30%.
Menus intact.

When copying with Instant copy I just used the default settings and came up with 3.9 GB image in the end.

The IC copy was of much better quality then DVDshrink even though it didn't fill the entire dvd-r capacity.
The DVDshrink copy had a lot more blocks and pixels.
Obviously DVDshrink was a lot faster in transcoding, about 30 minutes. IC used nearly 2 hours.

I still think DVDshrink is great program. Very easy to use and fast of course.
However it would great if it could sacrifice the speed just a little bit, for better quality.

I know that IC uses a different transcoding method then the other 1 click tools.
Is that something Pinnaclesys have pantent on?
Or can other developers use that method as well?

Cheers

Yes, Pinnacle has a patent on it. But there is more than one way to get the job done.

We are all hoping that DVDshrink 2.4 will be better quality.
