View Full Version : Deleting Reauthorist created dummy subtitle in Scenarist gives undesired result.

I use the big 3 all the time to process my dvd's. Sometimes I only want certain subtitle tracks to be included in the final dvd-r. The ones I want aren't always in sequential position on the original dvd-r (ie. 0x20 and 0x23 for instance). When I press Author It in Reauthorist and open the generated .scp in Scenarist, Reauthorist will have included 2 dummy placeholder subtitle tracks for me. Seeing as I'm not including the menu from the original dvd, I want my newly authored dvd-r to have my selected subtitle tracks in sequential order (ie. 0x20, 0x21, etc.), not in the original order of the original IFO.

So, I simply delete the dummy placeholders in the track and data tabs, and author the dvd. Once scenarist authors, the IFO file indicates 3 subtitle tracks, not 2 like I wanted. I simply assume that there is some data or settings included by Reauthorist that get put into Scenarist but never actually get deleted when I remove the dummy sub tracks.

Does anyone have any idea how to remove this errant data so that the proper number of subtitle tracks appear in the authored IFO? I believe (but am not positive) that this same behavior occurs when there are dummy audio tracks that are deleted as well...

It's been a while since you posted your question. Maybe you found an answer by yourself. If not, I have a solution, but first of all:

I am new to this forum, i am new to forums at all and english isn't my native language (so please don't blame me, give me a hint instead).

Ok, the solution for the subtitle problem:

Go to Scenario Editor.
Select the Title Set (not VTS, not PGC) with the deleted subtitles.
Change "Subpicture Availability Flag Policy" at the property window from "Custom" to "Adjust maximum streams in this title".
Change it back to "Custom".

If you now select a PGC in this Title Set and doubleclick on "Subpicture Attribute" in the property windows you should now see the correct number of subtitle streams.

Hope I could help.
