dv long mode

I have a sony trv-11, and it has a long and normal mode.
long mode gives me 90 minuets per tapeinstead of 60
presumably I lose somthing in long mode - the question
is what do I lose - is there a reason not to use long mode ?

There was a longer thread about this a while back; but to summarize, LP doesn't degrade quality, but if there were a chance that something would go wrong, LP is techinically more sensitive because the data is crammed together more. Check out the other thread though.
