I have a collection of videos...well they are from the same movie( DVD READ: Documentary)

There is one movie (45mins long 352*288 25fps)
and Three more Clips (10 mins long in Total 480*576 25fps)

I want to burn these all in Svcd Format but on one CD...80mins

Shud i convert the first movie into 480*576 and make a standard SVCD or is there any other way around this...and how much quality loss wud be there if i resize it to 480*576?

Thanx..
:)

I would say it's better to convert the 480x576 parts to 352x288 mpeg1 and put them all on one VCD in PAL format. Then you don't have to reencode as much as the other way around and you won't loose as much quality. 55 minutes is pretty much on a SVCD and it won't look good when reencoded from VCD format. But SVCD format reencoded to VCD is not so bad. But you can try both alternatives and see it yourself.

It may be possible to mix them on the same disc in different formats but it won't be a standard SVCD or VCD and it will probably not work in standalone players. The best thing would be making two discs, one VCD with 352x288 mpeg1 and one SVCD with 480x576 mpeg2. Then you don't need to reencode anything.

It is possible to produce a Non-Standard-SVCD without reencoding anything. But there's no guarantee that your Player will be able to play it correctly.
Just remux the small File to SVCD-Format and burn them all on the SVCD... maybe it works...
