I have recently encoded a couple of Divx movies to VCD. The problem is that after a few minutes the picture drops to a black screen with the words "ACM reported error on audio decompression". I did a search of the forum before posting but nothing stood out. I also encoded at different frequencies to no avail (original setting 44.1). Nothing I try seems to work. Any suggestions? Should I encode the audio seperately maybe?

Yes. Do the audio separately with a program like BeSweet, then mux(combine) the audio and video files together with some freeware program like BBmux or TMPGEnc. Many people have had problems with the audio in CCE. If you have a P4 and decide to use BeSweet make sure you install the P4 dlls. Makes a heck of a difference in speed.
