I very recently made the switch from Windows 2000 to XP Pro, and now AC3 audio is very quiet -- both from DVDs that played and sounded perfectly fine on my Win 2k setup as well as AC3 audio that I extracted for Xvid encodes (The Matrix being one example). AC3 always used to sound too loud on my system, but now I have to crank my Logitech z560s in order for the audio to sound normal. I can't think of anything that I installed differently, and I'm using the same sound card (Hercules Fortissimo II 4.1). I even tried using the "loud" profile in AC3Filter v0.69b, but I hear no discernable change in volume. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing? Or perhaps a file somewhere that I need to replace? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
