Is video size @ 100% the best way to check video quality?

When we encode our stuff, we generally want to check afterward the video quality. I generally strech it to fullscreen and check it. But it is always that way that i see the defaults (noise).

Of course, when i check it @ 100%, it is always looking good.

Im wondering wich way u guys do ur video quality check?

When encoding for TV, I check at 100%. I've found on TV looks at least as good as 100% mode.

If I try full screen I just see crap :)

Thank you guys for ur reply, its good to gave other's opinion. :p

Even the worst quality encode looks good @ 100%... so ill keep trying to do the best looking fullscreen encodes.

Actually im dealing with anime dvd (wich are damn hard to encode..:angry: ) and DV source witch is very noisy..

Ive been trying lots of filters combination all over the week-end, im just not sure if its the right forum to post my results.. since im dealing with xvid and avisynth :confused:

Remember many players will let you set a resolution for full screen. I watch almost everything without stretching and at 640x480 res using MPC. Even if it's 512 or something instead of 640 I often do this so I can get an extra notch or two in post processing, but I have a 21" CRT so have room to spare.
