This is what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to join multiple cells from various dvd, and compile them together into 1 movie. I use DVDShrink 2.3 to cut each cell. I tried using VOBEdit to join these cells together then use IFOEdit to create the new IFO file but when I reopen the IFO file with CloneDVD or DVDShrink, it gives me error message. This is the error message from DVDShrink "Invalid nv_pck".
How do I fix that?

Btw, each cell contain 1 movie stream, 2 ac3s audio stream, and 1 subtitle stream. What is the best way to join this multiple cells into 1 movie?

In my opinion the easest way is to use some authoring tool. Simply import all your assets (video, audio, subtitles) and put them together in this tool.

Or another way is to join all videos and all audio parts into 3 big files and work with only one video and 2 audio streams. Then you can probably use Ifoedit. I have red that Ifoedit can import subtiles so maybe it could work for you. I donīt use it for authoring, but there are tons of knowledge in ifoedit section in this forum...

How do I fix that? How about doing this. Do a mock Stream strip in IFOedit's VOB Extras. What I mean is go about like you are going to do a strip but keep ALL streams checked. Move all other original files after done mock-stripping and get VTS Sectors. Now, try opening the IFO with DVD Shrink again.

My 2 cents.

That's exactly what I did. VOBEdit to join all the vobs and use IFOEdit to create the IFO file.

I think I figure out the problem, it has something to do with the ac3's header after the join. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is just my opinion. When you join vobs using VOBEdit, and each vob contains ac3 stream, VOBEdit doesn't rewrite the resulted ac3 header.
The time code information is stored in each ac3 header, when I import the big chunk ac3 stream into authoring tools, always the first chunk of ac3 from the first VOB will be imported, since the header has the timecode of the first VOB.

The solution is to use BeSplit or BeSplice to fix the ac3 header after you join them together with VOBEdit.

I'll do some more test again tonight.

Do you have any suggestions on which authoring tool will be perfect to do what I want?

I use DVDMaestro or Scenarist.

Here is the link to Authoring program feature matrix:

There are guides for most actual tools in this section. I guess there are at least one tool not mentioned in this matrix - DVD Lab, which has trial version so you can use it for free for 30 days. Try to search forum for DVD Lab to get the link :).

OK - I did it for you :):

Thanks coona.

But currently DVDLab only supports 1 audio stream. I really like DVDLab interface, but most of the project that I'm dealing with has at least 2 audio stream.
