Subtitle question

In DIF4U, under the subtitles, it seems that each stream has a (W) and an (L) version. What do these mean, and what should I use?

"One subtitle track can use multiple streams (ie. 0x20,0x21). This occurs when one stream is used for 'Letterbox' while another is used for 'Widescreen'. In most cases, all that is needed is to demux one of the two streams and select W & L on that stream in Scenarist. A future version of DoItFast4U will show which setting is for each stream, but for now the W & L approach seems to suffice"
