hi

i am trying to rip a dvd, after ice ripped it and encoded the movie.
WHen i watch the avi, the movies got like lines on objects that move.

i think this is interlacing? (or something) ive tried using v dub with the deinterlace filter, but i still have the same problem.

how do i make my movie look good and get rid of those lines?

thanks
much appreciated

Welcome, Rain, to Doom9's forum.

You may very well have interlacing, caused by a process known as Telecining.

I recommend clicking on this IVTC tutorial (http://www.doom9.org/ivtc-tut.htm). It is designed for people who use DVD2AVI, Gordian Knot, and AviSynth. It should help you understand what you are seeing, and give guidance on what to do. It covers content in both NTSC and PAL.
