View Full Version : DVD2SVCD Stalls during Multiplexing

Whenever I go from DVD to SVCD there are no problems. But when I go from DIVX AVI to SVCD sometimes it works and sometimes it hangs during multiplexing audio and video (bbmpeg). After I abort, I play the mp2 file that is created from Besweet and find that it plays too fast or it is too short and it did not finish.

So here poses 2 questions?

a) What could cause certain audio files to mess up in Besweet?? Should I always take a DIVX and check/correct in Vdub for VBR audio and make it CBR first before using DVDtoSVCD??

b) If the audio messes up, why bother encoding video and then have the error occur during bbmpeg which is part of the final process?? Since I've chosen CCE to be the default video encoder, is there any way you can tell it to abort if the audio is not right?? Seems like a waste of time to do all that video encoding only to find it can't merge with corrupted audio.....

TIA, synchron.

with certain divx avi i found it best to run them thru virtualdub with video set at direct stream copy and set audio at full processing mode, sometimes the audio is encoded incorrectly with vbr and ac3.

OK, thanx for the links. I guess I should restream in Vdub first before complaining.
