CCE won't start in advanced DVD compliant mode

Here's my strange problem. If I use dvd2svcd to make a svcd, it works fine. But if I take a captured .avi and try to make a dvd compliant mpeg2 file using the advanced box and changing the perimeters to dvd specs: resize to 720x480....dvd compliant...48000mhz 384 bitrate..etc. Then CCE will not start to encode.

Is there something I'm missing? I used to be able to do this. But for some reason, I now cannot.

that's your problem...you don't want it to be CCE 'dvd compliant'. read advanced reference to figure out why.
