After installing windows xp with sp1 integrated, i found a second local area connection. I can't disable it either.
I have no idea what it's for. It's simply labelled Microsoft Tv/Video Connection.
the error says ;
Error disabling connection. It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. This connection may be using one or more protocols that do not support Plug-and-Play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account.

Im assuming it has something to do with my all in wonder.

This could be a "New feature" however it is not in my XP even after I installed SP1.
Sorry if I am being patronising but I’ll state the obvious which is drivers and compatibility.
If it is a TV out problem it may be due to driver for your graphics card. Does your graphics card have a TV out or another monitor facility?
Do you have the latest drivers from your graphics card manufacturer? Often this will solve the problem.

This is a little more theoretical food for thought as I know little about it but...
Do you have any fire wire or other external hardware ports that it may be mistaking for a networking device. Or possibly a USB device that it thinks could be a type of modem. As Microsoft are doing a broadband service and they may be trying to integrate it into the operating system more.
I say this because my sound card (audigy platinum) comes with fire wire and it gets grouped with the networking.

I get this too sometimes when reinstalling drivers for my Bt8x8 based TV-cap card.
I couldn remove it > after many reboots I once was able to removed it, so I did and XP never asked for it again nor did it create it again (until reinstall of drivers sometime):D
