View Full Version : .VOB problem

I was trying to backup a movie and it turns out I miscalculated with my IC7 settings and it is a little too big. (4.5gb) When I try to re-convert it (is that a word?) it says it is missing a .vob file. Im not sure if I need to re-author the files or not- a little confused here.

Here is a list of the files in my VIDEO_TS folder:

VIDEO_TS.BUP
VTS_O1_0.BUP
VTS_O2_0.BUP
VTS_O3_0.BUP
VTS_O4_0.BUP
VTS_O5_0.BUP
VTS_O6_0.BUP
VTS_O1_0.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_O1_0.IFO
VTS_O2_0.IFO
VTS_O3_0.IFO
VTS_O4_0.IFO
VTS_O5_0.IFO
VTS_O6_0.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.VOB
VTS_02_0.VOB
VTS_04_0.VOB
VTS_04_1.VOB
VTS_04_2.VOB
VTS_04_3.VOB
VTS_04_4.VOB
VTS_04_5.VOB

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

VTS_05_*.vob and VTS_06_*.vob are missing, try removing the .IFOs and feeding the Video_ts.ifo to DVDShrink (drag and drop) to see if that will open it.

Thank you for the help maa. I tried that but it won't work for me when I remove the other .ifo files. If this helps any, when I try to run them through DVDShrink, it says:

"title vobs file doesn't exist.

The reason is: the system cannot find the specified file."

Any other ideas?

Your easiest way is to re_rip the DVD to the HD keeping everything and take it from there.
There are way of editing the Video_TS.IFO to remove any refences to the missing VOBs - have a look with ifoedit at VMG_VTS_ATART, it probably says there are 6 title sets - change it to 4 and save (make a backup copy first) then press "Get VTS Sectors"
