I need a capture app that can do audio only

I have some DV material where I only need the audio. It would save a lot of disk space if I didn't have to capture the video. Is there a capture program that can do audio only?

Exact Audio Copy (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de) can capture a straight .wav IIRC, under the tools menu.

Thanks. I'm referring to a firewire capture from a dv device. EAC doesn't do that.

you could do it with iuvcr and just bump the resolution down to something daft, and compressed to next to nothing.

I looked at iuvcr before and it doesn't appear to support Firewire capture.

I have firewire sockets, but alas no firewire equipment, so i dunno how well it works.

Could you suggest what compression format to use? I need one that does little or no compression but allows me to resize the video. I'm only familiar with DV codecs and they don't allow me to resize the video.

[edit] I was assuming that the compression setting played a factor in what I can change in Capture Format. But no matter which codec I choose I can't change any of the settings in Capture Format.

I just noticed that Scenalyzer, my usual capture app, has an audio-only capture option.

i would have said to capture to divx, and resize it to something stupid like 32+32 or something, but if you've got it working, that's great. :)

bloody typical it was under your nose all that time, though. I always do that.
