Hi, experts.

The GKnot is the best program for what it does. It can be more user-friendly and unputdownable if it had help text in all its tabs, like it has on the first 'Ripping' tab. If necessary the procedures can be spread out and number of tabs can be increased by two or three.

It's difficult for you experts to feel the need for explanations, but mortals will always benefit from your experience. For example, it says about vStrip that it is for processing DVD data lying on the HDD, but don't the DVD2AVI also 'process' DVD data in the HDD? Maybe a little kinder explanation...?

Thanks.

You need DVD2AVI to make your D2V project that you can load in Gknot. Vstrip is an alternative to DVDecripytor which can also rip movies to your hard drive from the DVD. Also the text files in the tabs would be redundant, since all you have to do is go online to check what each thing does. This would just take up more space and It's fine as it is right now IMO.

Thanks, Mr Hiro2k. I stand rebuked.

But one thing intrigues me: if the premise is to get help from the net in case of GKnot programs, then why have they put text on the "Ripping" tab at all? And why the help messages appearing at the bottom in the "Bitrate" tab when one puts the curson in a box? I just meant something like that in all the tabs, in plainer English!. But, please, it's okay if the programmers (gods - I don't mean sarcasm) feel okay.

Yes, documentation is available in the pages of the different programs' sites on the net, EXCEPT VobSub. I have scouted pages at Doom9, Digital Digest, DVDHelp, WeetHet, Nicky Pages, and also read what came with VobSub v 2.23, but could NOT get any idea what the different parts of the "Filter:VobSub" window mean. The red quare, the outer square, the vertical sliders, the color boxes...etc etc.

D'you know where I can find help?

Thanks again.
