I use a helmet cam and record onto DV cam (motorbike) whilst at a bike show the other day a guy on a stall showed me a walkman sized MPEG4 recorder (approx £300) with a analogue AV input. anyone seen where you can buy these, what there called, and are they any good ?

I know of the Archos product series: http://www.archos.com
I think you can order them e.g. at amazon.com. Don't know how good they are, though.

Hmm yup thats them.....thnx.
PAL at 320 x 240...shame coz i convert to dvd. compared to capturing to DV cam (which is what i do now then convert to dvd) will there be much quality difference?

Of course. The resolution is just too low. And for PAL 352x288 would be more appropriate. DV will yield much better quality.

Thanks for the info, Thats a damn shame, because carrying a camcorder, batteries and tapes gets to be a pain. Thanks again
